Modeling a dress in Hexagon 2.5

Came across this pretty good 3 part Tutorial on YouTube on how to model a dress in DAZ Hexagon 3D which is pretty well done granted the quality due to it being a video for YouTube is not bad and difficult to see some of the settings the poster has used you can still get a good idea on how to get started using one of the easier 3D modeling tools on the market. I have used and have practiced playing around with Hexagon 2 and found the learning curveĀ  much easier to grasp than some plus the price is well with in most hobbyist budget. Granted Hexagon 2 has a few annoying glitches and flaws it does tend to crash often for no reason but I have lived with that as long as you know going in that it will crash or freeze up saving often so you don’t loose what your working on. It is a great modeler for making items to import into Poser and it has the ability to make sculpted prims for Second Life. I have tested Hexagon on both Windows XP and XP64 and Vista and will say it seems to work much smoother on both my Window XP platforms. There are many free toys for modeling like Blender which for Second Life Sculpted Prims is great but still learning curve is high. Any way here are the links to this great tutorial on how to Model a Dress in Hexagon 2.5 and by the way you can get Hexagon 2.5 at Daz3D by following the banner on my blog.If you are a 3D modeler or have made any tutorials you wish to share with others but have no way of hosting them yourself drop me a line and I would be happy to host them and get them shared.

Stop being so Judgement of others

I see the moral minority might be at it again in Second Life. In the last year, we saw many changes to Second life some good many a push to drive many away from Second Life. I have been a member of Second Life now since 2005 have enjoy the vast potential of Second Life as a creative potential for those who wish to show off their artistic and imaginative creations. However, when you start to create judgment environment where those choosing to participate in consensual role-play of any sort are being harassed and stigmatized like lepers then it is wrong. First Second Life chose to isolate adult content to a new region causing uproar and driving many business owners out of Second Life due to the losses of their revenue. Fine that was Second Life’s solution to appease the moral minority. I follow the sometime interesting post within the Second Life general discussion blog and came across one today that irks the living hell out of me “Is Slavery on SL a thinly valed hate crime” Now not going to post word for word nor the posters name here but come on already if there is something in Second Life that you don’t like or don’t wish to participate in that is going on in a particular sim then leave. I am not condoning the approval of certain behaviors but what participants chose to do in a consensual environment as long as it is not breaking any real laws then let it be. The Adult Sim’s were established for those wishing to participate in mature content can do so again let me state I am not condoning illegal activities but most of what does go on in these mature sims is what Second Life was made for to socialize get to know and have fun with like minded individuals with in a consensual environment. NO ONE can truly be forced to do anything in Second Life that they do not want to do so sorry but to the moral minority get off your high horse and stop trying to label or stigmatize others. Ok this is it for my rant on this subject just get tired of seeing others being so judgmental what two or three or group of people choose to do with in Second Life for their personal enjoyment is none of my business till it is being forced down my throat if I say no not interested. Not one for quoting biblical passages but seems it fits in this time “Matt. 7:1 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.” Any way have fun that is what Second life was created for in the first place at least that’s my opinion.
